The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation was developed by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelers™ Council, in collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center and NAHB Seniors Housing Council. The CAPS program was developed to provide professionals with training that would enable them to understand and accommodate the needs of people over the age of 50, who have the want and desire to continue to live at home as they age. Understanding the unique needs of this older adult population, the required home modifications and developing solutions to common barriers and obstructions is what makes us different.
